Dress Code, 2006-2007
Our intent is to foster a neat student attire that
will have a favorable impact on student attitudes and behavior while
building self-esteem and school pride. It is the responsibility of
each student, with the cooperation of the parent, to comply with the
dress code. All attire should be clean and in good repair. The
principals decision will be final in all matters pertaining to
interpretation of the code.
General/Specific Rules
The following apply to all OBS students:
Bottoms:
- Belt loop pants must be worn with belts
- Pants, shorts, etc. must be worn at waist
- No excessively baggy/sagging pants
- No biker, stretch or other tight fitting shorts
- No sweat or nylon athletic shorts or pants
- Shorts, skorts, skirts, and jumpers must pass the
finger-tip test ( length must not be shorter than
fingertips when arms are extended at sides)
Tops:
- No tee shirts (except for school spirit day)
- No tank/halter shirts
- Outer wear coats must not be worn in the classroom
- Any logos on shirt (other than OBS) are discouraged, but must
be less than the size of a quarter
- Shirts with a tail or which are not straight hemmed
must be tucked.
Shoes:
- Non-marking soles
- No heels (less than 1 1/2 inches)
- No open-toed sandals, flip-flops, or "jellies"
- No shoes with lights
- NO Crocs
Miscellaneous:
- No jewelry other than one watch with alarms off
- Girls may wear simple earrings (no hoops or dangling
types allowed)
- No "offensively themed" apparel or accessories
- No backpacks, pencils, notebooks, etc. that are decorated
with symbols that depict violence, sexuality, the occult,
drugs, alcohol products, etc.
- No hats, caps, toboggins, scarves, bandannas, etc. are
to be worn
