After many weeks of preparation and practice, the cruise ship Vengeance sets sail this evening at 7:00. We look forward to sharing a wonderful evening together! The PTF is providing a fantabulous dessert buffet following the show! Please come to support our efforts. We will all be doing our best to entertain you. We pray that everyone will receive our efforts in the loving spirit with which we share this show. Many parents, community members, and staff have given hours of time and donated money and materials to help make this production a success. And our children have worked and worked to learn their songs and their lines. Please cheer them on this evening!

On April 17th, fifteen neighboring private schools came to Orcutt Baptist School to share information with our families and staff. Parents were able to start the registration process and staff members were able to make contacts and receive job applications. We appreciate our School Board making this event possible! Even though we are sad, it was a blessing to see so many Christian educators supporting one another and working together.
 

Mark your calendars for Friday, May 9, 2008. At 8:30 in the morning, we look forward to honoring mothers, aunts, grandmothers, and other special ladies during our Chapel service. Following the Mothers Day Chapel, our PTF will provide a reception for these dear women who have blessed and influenced so many young lives. If you plan to attend, and have not sent in your reservation, please do so on Monday.
 

May 12 - 16 we will celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week at OBS. The Orcutt Baptist Church Mission Committee will provide breakfast for the teachers on Monday, May 12 and the PTF will provide lunch on Friday, May 16th. There will be other goodies for our dear teachers during the week. Please let your teachers know how much you appreciate all they do for our children!
 

During the week of May 12 - 16, our students will take the Stanford 10 standardized tests. Please be sure your child gets plenty of sleep and eats a nutritious breakfast during testing. We will not have chapel services during this week of testing, but, of course, we will pray and study Gods Word in our classes. Please encourage your child to do their very best on these tests. They have worked hard all year and we want them to show what they know! We will do PALs testing during the week of May 19 - 22. This test measures growth in reading skills. We know our children will perform well.
